Guaranteed suitable for children: the new stamp rally in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with mascot Loisl was designed by the GaPa Tourismus GmbH and leads through the traditional town in a playful way. For example, via the Kramerplateauweg, which is also easy to walk with a pushchair, to the Almhütte mountain inn. The latter is called Windbeutelalm by the locals - the sweet delicacies with lots of cream taste especially good with a mountain view and after romping on the adventure playground. At the Aschenbrenner Museum, on the other hand, the focus is on dolls and porcelain figures - including a play corner with books and toys from times gone by. Those who collect stamps will be rewarded with a little surprise at the tourist information office. More Information you find here

Prefer to go high up? The three-kilometre Genuss-Erlebnisweg trail from the Alpspitzbahn mountain station to the Kreuzeckbahn mountain station is also suitable for younger children. At the beginning, the AlpspiX viewing platform sets dizzying accents. The partly glazed footbridge towers above the abyss and offers spectacular views of the Zugspitze, Waxensteine, Alpspitz north face and the wild Höllental valley. Afterwards, you can explore the "stone kingdom" of the Alpspitz giant, including the stone throne and treasure hunt. Sunbathing areas, relaxation loungers and swing elements make the comfortable hiking trail entertaining.

The mountain forest near the Zugspitz village of Grainau transports the whole family into a world full of legends and stories about the Höllental. It's best to first pick up the brochure with all the information at the tourist information office and then set off on the 3-kilometre tour under the Waxensteinen. Turmangerblick, Königs- und Bärenwald, the Jägerstand and Wildererschluf are just a few of the stops to be explored with the help of Waxl the little bear. The two-hour hike with gentle inclines flies by. Who will see the fairy of Höllental and who will become the king of the forest? Along the entire trail, there are always opportunities to take a break for a snack, and you walk along natural paths and through shady woods - ideal for hot days. Tip: In the middle of the trail you can make a short detour to the Neuneralm.

Want some action? On the Tyrolean side of the Zugspitze, the Bichlbach Sports and Leisure Park has a flying fox and rafting facility. Two rope lines take you to lofty heights over the bathing lake area, including a view of the Zugspitze. At the Raftingbach, several steps made of round wooden beams ensure fun and speed on the ride with the inflatable ring.

Special vehicles are also waiting at the Marienberg in Biberwier: Light aluminium mountain carts or monster scooters with thick tyres take you from the middle station of the Marienberg cable car down 4 kilometres and 700 metres in altitude on a gravelled path that leads through forests and meadows into the valley. Helmets and protectors can be rented. The mountain railway provides a comfortable ascent. The longest summer toboggan run in Tyrol in Biberwier, also on the Marienberg, is also fast: 40 curves, a tunnel passage and a length of 1,300 metres ensure riding pleasure in a wonderful natural landscape. Tip: Every Tuesday until the end of August there is evening tobogganing (until 9.45 pm in dry weather).

After the many mountain adventures, numerous natural and mountain lakes as well as leisure and indoor pools in the Zugspitz Arena Bavaria-Tyrol tempt you to cool off. Sometimes in spectacular colours, sometimes with slides, mini-golf or boat trips.

About the Zugspitz Arena Bavaria-Tyrol

The Zugspitz Arena Bayern-Tirol (ZABT) is located on the German and Austrian sides of the Zugspitze and unites the regions of the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena (with the villages of Ehrwald, Lermoos, Berwang, Biberwier, Bichlbach, Heiterwang am See and Namlos), Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Zugspitz village of Grainau. The Zugspitze towers over the destination as a prominent peak at 2962 m and is accessible from the Bavarian and Tyrolean sides by cable car. If you spend your holidays here, you don't have to choose: urban flair in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, charming farmhouses in Grainau, rustic alpine pastures in the Berwangertal valley. The ZABT shows the whole diversity of an Alpine region that is modern and traditional at the same time.
