Roman road "Via Claudia Augusta
In 1999, excavations uncovered parts of a Roman road on the Via Claudia Augusta and made remarkable Roman finds
The track grooves at the end of the town, long considered Roman times, are medieval.
In the municipality of Biberwier, the largest mining operation "Silberleite" of the Ausserfern region, which can be documented as early as 1511, was located. There, calamine, lead and tin ore were mined. In 1921 the mining company closed its tunnels after more than 400 years of existence.
Today there is a mountain bike or hiking route along the "Via Claudia Augusta".
