Maria-Himmelfahrt-Kapelle | Mitteregg
The chapel in Mitteregg was build at the beginning of the 17th century.
The Maria Ascension Chapel in Mitteregg was built at the beginning of the 17th century. The interior dates from the late 17th century. The rectangular building with an indented choir arch is closed with a flat wooden ceiling. The high altar with a volute band attachment is decorated with the painting "Assumption of Mary into Heaven" (above the Trinity, below left Joachim, right Anna) by Paul Zeiller, 1690 (restored and heavily overpainted by Josef Kärle in 1907). On the left side altar is the Mariahilf painting by Paul Zeiller, c. 1690, on the right side altar St. Martin on horseback with Mary, Joseph and Jesus, an exvoto painting, inscribed : "Johanes Berwanger and Maria Perchtoldin Ao 1711". Stations of the Cross around 1880. painting "hl. Joseph" in rococo frame, around 1770.
