Chapel Untergrainau
Waxensteinstraße corner Baderseeweg
The chapel was probably built in the second half of the 18th century to take over older buildings. The year 1772 is a reference point for the interior decoration. So the independent Untergrainau had a town centre. The people of Untergrainau love their Josef chapel. With the death of St. Joseph with the picture on the main altar and the stucco ceiling by an artist from the surrounding area, the chapel is a high-quality testimony to local church culture.
A carved figure of Joseph adorns the new village fountain right next door on the lower village square.
In summer there is a mass every 14 days, on Friday at 7 p.m., alternating with the Marien Chapel in Hammersbach.
