Sebastianskapelle
The origin of the Sebastian Church goes back to the plague during the Thirty Years' War (1618 - 1648). The people of Partenkirchen were very afraid of this contagious disease. That is why they did not bury the plague dead in the cemetery around the parish church in the center of the village, but in their own plague cemetery (1634) outside the village. Three years later, in 1637, the foundation stone of St. Sebastian's Church was laid, in honor of the plague patrons St. Sebastian and St. Roch.
