Sebastian's Chapel | Rinnen
The chapel was bulit at the beginning of the 17th century.
The Sebastian Chapel in Rinnen was built at the beginning of the 17th century. The prayer room and the chancel are connected by a round arch and closed with a wooden feather ceiling. The high altar shows in the decorative style characteristic architecture around 1640. The altarpiece depicts the Madonna and Child surrounded by rosary medallions with scenes from the life of Mary from the Annunciation to the Coronation. Laterally under canopy scrolls are St. Catherine on the left and St. Barbara on the right, in the top Mary with the Child, on the side pediment pieces two angels. The statue of St. Sebastian on the base of the tabernacle was donated by the people of Rinn in 1637. The figures are carved in the style of Adam Payr.
The left side altar with a baldachin-like entablature (around 1750) has the painting "Lamentation of Christ", around 1690, and the upper image of St. Aloisius. The right side altar is decorated with the painting "Coronation of Mary with Sebastian and Rochus" by Paul Zeiller from 1698 (inscribed: "Paul Zeiller invenit Ao 1698"). In the upper picture St. Ignatius is depicted. Both superstructures are probably from Berwang (Mang Anton Stapf, 1746). The pictures of the Stations of the Cross date from the end of the 18th century. The image of the Virgin Mary is inscribed "1712".
